Vic:

Hi, it's Vicky here. If you're a regular listener to Get Amplified, you'll have noticed that we didn't release many episodes last year. I toyed with the idea of whether to record this snippet to explain where we've been and what we've been doing in the last 12 months. And as you're listening to this, you can see that we decided being transparent and sharing what we've been doing was the right thing to do, as this is very much the way we work. So 2025 was a pretty tough year for me personally. For the early part of the year, I was supporting a very close friend with terminal cancer who sadly lost her battle in May. I also lost my dad and my sister in the second half of the year, with my sister going into hospital just after Gemma's funeral. Losing my dad was a little bit of a different story, as he was 99.9 to the day, and his funeral was a real celebration of his life. Although I miss Dad dearly, the funeral felt more like a wedding reception. At it, I read the poem The Dash, where the dash signifies the time we spend alive on this earth and how it's important we make the most of it. Not materially, but about the difference we make to others. I'm incredibly grateful to my team at Amplified Group. We all pulled together, also supporting Lindsay as she beat off cancer. And of course, to all our clients who understood and showed compassion. So 2025 was about keeping the lights on and focusing on the client work that we needed to deliver. This meant that GetAmplified took a back seat. We are now two episodes off recording our 100th episode, and I'm incredibly grateful to Sam, who gives up his time so generously to record these episodes with us, bringing not only his experience and humour, but also his wonderful ability to put our guests at ease. As it seems no matter how senior they are, they always seem to be just a little bit nervous to start with. Sharing his experience on the importance of accountability without authority, a topic that we are often talking about and working through with our clients. If you have any suggestions for topics or guests that we should record with, we would, as always, love to hear from you. Thanks again for listening to Get Amplified from the Amplified Group. As always, your comments and subscriptions are gratefully received.
